Airtel — dth poor quality set-top box & airtel policy on only upgrade is possible or not downgrade of set-top box

Poor quality android set-top box was issued which overheats after an hour o[censored]sage & then starts to lag in response & performance.

Airtel policy on only upgrade is possible & not downgrade of set-top box?! – when i asked them to downgrade to a older model as upgrade costs another 2grand. The current set-top box is 7 months old (This was pushed out & sold to us for rs.2400 lying that it's a newer model in july 2019 where truth is newer model launched post august called xstream box!

So i was not happy paying another rs.2200 to a second upgrade with in a year – if airtel buys such bad quality hardware which won't even function for a year why rip off their customers?

P. S. Heating of current set-top box is an ongoing recurring issue – the local dealer or the agency who responsible for replacing faulty unit keeps sending technician (4 visits made this far – they reset the box each time & tell no stock of that model box is available currently – like do i care? Get the box asap if not possible go with upgrade or downgrade as i am still paying for the downtime!) with no knowledge of the situation – when queried the tech was notified of a no signal issue – literally bad management is how i could describe them as!

Spoke to various people! Was like so speaking to robots, all go on & on with same standard replies as a last resort writing down here! Will have to wait till monday now to speak with a nodal officer!
