Franch Express Courier — Irresponsible courier service

I sent a courier on 23rd of December 2015 from Trichy, convinced that my item would reach IIT Madras, Chennai the next day since it was really urgent because this involved my work regarding my thesis submission for my Ph.D. which had to be submitted to my guide ASAP. But my receiver did not receive it the next day. When I tracked the item with the tracking ID, I came to know that the item has reached Anna University. We waited even the next day but still it wasn't received. I finally decided to check it with the courier booking outlet here at Trichy. She gave me a number and asked me to check it with the lady who'd pick up the call.
I called her and explained her the situation but she told me to sent her a text message with the courier booking ID and the receivers full address. I did the same. After waiting for a reply for about 30 minutes I called her back and inquired, she said that she'll call back. When she called back she said that they ll deliver it on Monday i.e., on 28th. When asked for the reason, i got a list of lame reasons such as the delivery boys went on leave, no one was not available, the delivery boy was not allowed inside IIT, inside the hostel and what not. After having quite a row with the other end on the call they tried giving a lot of other numbers to call. I refused but finally they gave someone's number, most probably who is the delivery guy around there.
He again shot some list of stupid reasons and finally he told about the item being there at their Adyar Office. When asked for the address, he said he did not know. He has given a list of landmarks and now I have to send my friend in search of the office in Adyar, Chennai and get the item who has to ride the cycle all the way from IIT to Adyar.
I perceive this as an irresponsible service and replies to queries and complaints. I hope it is clear that this courier service has caused a huge inconvenience for us. I don't think they deserve to run a courier service with such a lethargic way of doing business where they provide such a disgraceful and cheap customer satisfaction. I expect a strict action to be taken against the service.
